5K Run & Walk

Geneva, Alabama's annual Festival on the Rivers 5 Mile Run started in June 1976 our nation's bicentennial year. It began at the Emma Knox Kennan Library in downtown Geneva. Through the years it has become a part of the Annual Festival on the Rivers held the last Saturday (weekend) in April. Due to helping the police and volunteer festival committee with traffic and other activities during the festival we moved the run to the Saturday before the River Festival as a lead into the Festival and added the 5 Mile Walk.

It has started at the Library and later the starting point was moved to the River Oaks Golf Course at the junction and then to Geneva Middle/High School as the starting point. Last year 2012 we moved the run back to the junction of the two rivers. Due to poplar demand we changed it to a 5K (3.1 mile).

This year's annual Festival On The Rivers 5K Run & Walk will be held Saturday, April 20 beginning and ending at the the junction of the Choctawhatchee and Pea Rivers. It is being sponsored by the Festival on the Rivers Committee.
